Mental Health First Aid Training Class
The Division of Injury Prevention under HHS manages the Mental Health program, which aims to train adults in Mental Health First Aid which will help reduce the negative stigmas of mental health. Participants will learn how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges and will learn how to provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use challenge or experiencing a crisis.

10/3/24 to 10/6/24 Jersey City Fashion Week. Style with Significance! Destination Fashion is the theme this season. JCFW consist of fashion shows and entertainment for a benevolent cause. Our shows will be at Maritime Park and Terminal Building at the Railroad in Liberty State Park This season JCFW will donate part of its proceeds to She Is...Incorporated a one-on-one mentorship program in Jersey City which builds confidence in girls from ages 6 to 18, Hunger Free Unity in the Community who gives food to homeless shelters, churches and seniors in Hudson County and National Medical Fellowship that helps African Americans students attend medical school through scholarships among other programs.

A Man’s Moment
A Man’s Moment is an informal walk-in community-led peer support group that promotes exposure and connectivity through shared experiences. Facilitator (s) identify as Male and share their experience (s) by engaging in 1-hour conversations on a variety of topics guided by the facilitator (s). Participants are encouraged to assist in leading discussions on subjects related to their overall well-being. A Man’s Moment has an evolving curriculum.

This free program is designed to give everyone a place and time for peace. The community can come de-stress for 20 minutes at a time. There will be days of writing poetry or painting for participants to further decompress through art. Stress is the largest health issue in this country, we invite everyone to come and heal as a community in Speer Cemetery.

Riverview Community Garden – Open Hours
Come visit the garden during our weekend open hours! Young children can play in our kids' garden and mud kitchen. Check out our food share beds, honeybee hives, medicinal and native plants, and bring over your food waste to compost. Specific events will be posted here and on our social media sites.
