Our first step was to identify 4 strong partners to lead a coalition of city stakeholders who could examine health and population data as well as local and national trends in devising a plan of action that would take a comprehensive, holistic approach to improving the health of city residents.

The Jersey City Housing Authority (JCHA) is the second largest Housing Authority in the State and houses approximately 1,800 low-income households within nine (9) public housing developments and 126 low-income households within two (2) non-federal affordable housing sites. Health disparities between minorities & low-income populations and non-minority & higher income groups have been thoroughly documented and stark differences exist in the quality of and access to healthcare.
