About Our Partnership with Islamic Center of Jersey City - religious services and education

What services do we provide?

We provide religious services for the Muslim community every day. Also we teach English Literacy for Immigrants and Refugee adults which includes English language, basic computer skills, financial literacy and work orientation. There is an After School Program from 3 to 7, Monday through Friday for 4-15 year old children. Sunday School classes for Arabic and non-Arabic speaking children take place 11 to 3 p.m. In addition, we provide Adult Islamic Study to newcomers to Islam.

What does building a Culture of Health mean to Islamic Center of Jersey City as an organization?

Building a "Culture of Health" encourages and enables the community to understand that good health includes spiritual, physical and intellectual areas. The Islamic Center provides a place for prayer and meditation and a place to learn about the community and how to become part of it. The ICJC recognizes the importance of faith as an attribute of good health and the importance of helping immigrants and refugees to know the American culture and to be able to start their journey in the U.S.
