About the partner
Vulcan Pioneers of Newark is a non-profit organization centered around public safety and fire safety. We are comprised of volunteer fire fighters that dedicate their time teaching community members about violence prevention, fire safety, and developing safe/fun activities for individuals to engage in. We also go with schools and teach children and youth about fire safety, precaution, and prevention, as well as open the doors for youth that want to join the fire fighter world.
Perspective on Health Equity
Building a culture of health in Jersey City means engaging the community in health and safe activities, while incorporating violence prevention knowledge. How we engage in a community together has a significant influence over everyone's health, wether it's mental, physical, or environmental. The Vulcan Pioneers aims to teach individuals on the importance of environmental safety through activities, events, and classes.
