Our first step to form #HealthierJC was to identify 4 strong partners to lead a coalition of city stakeholders who could examine health and population data as well as local and national trends in devising a plan of action that would take a comprehensive, holistic approach to improving the health of city residents.

Founded in 2005, the Jersey City Parks Coalition is a private, not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization that assists in the development and maintenance of Jersey City’s parks and public spaces. The mission of the Jersey City Parks Coalition is to empower residents to develop, renovate, use and maintain their community parks and public spaces of Jersey City; thereby revitalizing neighborhoods and lifting communal and human spirits.
The Jersey City Medical Center is located on a 15-acre campus overlooking the New York Harbor and Liberty State Park. The Campus presently includes three facilities, the Wilzig Hospital, the Provident Bank Ambulatory Center and the medical office building. The hospital serves as a regional referral, teaching hospital and provides the highest level of care for women and infants, trauma, and cardiac patients. Inside our spacious facility, natural light bathes your room and the Statue of Liberty gleams outside your window.
The Jersey City Department of Health and Human Services is a multi-purpose public health agency designed to protect and promote the health of Jersey City residents. The department provides health education, disease prevention, child health clinic, consumer safety, environmental health, senior affairs and nutrition services. The Jersey City Department of Human Services is committed to strengthening their work through a partnership platform to make Jersey City the healthiest city in New Jersey.
