Our grassroots network of educators and volunteers aims to: - Raise awareness about the dramatic health benefits of eating predominantly whole plant foods. - Build food and health literacy among the region’s diverse populations, through experiential programs that advance both knowledge and skills. - Enable substantial dietary change toward tangible health improvements. - Provide ongoing support for maintaining healthy habits. - Promote a healthier regional food ecosystem.
Western dietary patterns have created a perfect storm for chronic disease, but nutrition and lifestyle are powerful ways to address the root causes of disease. PPMNY seeks to build a culture of health in Jersey City through community-wide awareness of plant-based nutrition as a key to preventing, treating, and even reversing many conditions. When everyone, regardless of their background, has the basic knowledge, skills, and support to make meaningful dietary change, health will emerge.
