About Our Partnership with

What services do we provide?

SPECIAL DRAGONS non-profit is a therapeutic karate program for children with Autism and other developmental disabilities. The adaptive program uses basic karate techniques to address challenges like eye/hand coordination, motor control, conditioning, sensory integration, time on task, and more. It is not a combat program.

Special Dragons is also a safe haven where children with special needs come to make friends.

What does building a Culture of Health mean to Special Dragons as an organization?

Children with Autism and other developmental disabilities are the unseen or forgotten population. They are often uninvited or unwelcome to participate with typical children in after-school physical activities. Allow me to bring to your attention that with the many grant categories you offer not one is directed towards people with special needs and/or developmental disabilities. Nor do they appear in the ,"Organization Type & Affiliations" drop down menu. You forgot us too.
