The Florence Academy of Art was founded in 1991, it has excelled at training students to acquire the skills of fine craftsmanship in drawing, painting, and sculpture. Its Master of Arts in Studio Art program teaches artists and art educators (with special interest in K-12 classrooms) a skill-based method for creating art.
Our organization aspires to contribute to building a culture of health thanks to the Masters in Studio Art program's focus on training K-12 teachers. MA graduates receive a thorough foundation in skill-based techniques, for teaching these techniques in the classroom. This enhances student achievement in all contexts: schools, after-school programs, prisons, and other programs serving the community. This is the greatest public benefit the MA serves.
