At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson, and Union Counties, our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth and to be a credible social justice organization embedded in our community. We also offer programming, workshops and events to our mentees, their families and mentors, and access and referrals to resources through our partners

Perspective on Health Equity

For BBBS, building a Culture of Health in Jersey City means supporting the social, emotional health, and academic success of youth, leading them to a healthy and successful life. With the influence of a caring adult, youth are more likely to avoid risky behaviors and focus on positive experiences. For the last 15 years, we have been working with volunteers, parents, and families to create one-to-one mentoring relationships that defend, inspire, and empower the potential within every kid.
