An Array of City-Issued Licenses and Renewals Are Now Available ONLINE

As part of an effort to provide better customer service and more convenience for residents, the Jersey City Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) is rolling out online licensing for the first time ever.

As part of today’s roll-out of online licensing, the Licensing Bureau will be offering renewals of Class A, B, C, and D food licenses. Renewals for Child Care Centers and Tattoo Parlors are also available online starting today.

New food establishments or establishments under new ownership will still have to come to HHS offices at the Martin Luther King Jr. City Hall Annex in person to receive their initial license. Mobile food vendors (food trucks) must return to HHS annually for inspections and renewals of their licenses.

Also starting today, dog licenses and vending machine licenses will be available online. Renewals of these types of licenses will also be available online.

The Department’s Bureau of Licensing envisions this as part of a larger vision where even more options for licenses and license renewals are available online as well.
